We have some very exciting news to tell you!
A film is being made about The Monday Night Club.
Mencap in London were contacted by a local theatre company who make documentaries, called C&T. They wanted to make a film with a group of people with learning disabilities in Worcestershire. Mencap suggested The Monday Night Club. We have won a grant from The Big Lottery, Awards For All, to pay for everything.
The Film Makers
C&T came to meet us and want to make the film about one of our talent show evenings, and call it:
The Monday Night Club has got Talent!
They want us all to be involved in making the film, so we can learn how a film is made. Some people will be in the film and some people will help behind the scenes. If you want to find out more about C&T click here>>
The Talent Show
Save the date: Monday 22nd April 2013
The talent show will take place at 7.30pm on Monday April 22nd at Barbourne Ex-Servicemen’s Club. We hope to have a BIG audience including all your friends and families. The show will be filmed and be part of the final film.
The Red Carpet
The film, a 30-minute documentary, will be shown at a Film Premiere in Worcester in May. (Date and venue to be announced.) We will invite VIPs, the Press, local councillors, other disability charities and all of you. It is going to be a ‘black tie’ event, with refreshments and photographers – and we will try to arrange a Red Carpet!
Everyone should know you!
We all think the film, a 30-minute documentary, will be fantastic. It will show everyone how talented and wonderful you all are! We hope it will be shown to a much wider audience in Worcestershire and beyond.
The Monday Night Club Has Got Talent wants to show all the talents you have, not only singing. You can dance, act, read, play a musical instrument, or anything else you want to do.
Some of you have already met Max and Paul on their visits to the Club.
Some of you already know what you are doing for the film.
If you would like to help with our film please talk to Max, Paul, Laura or Helen.
